Valentino Rossi Manager a Le Mans: 90 Victories in MotoGp!
Even Angel Nieto paid tribute to Valentino Rossi after the Italian driver equaled his Grand Prix win tally of 90 victories in MotoGp.
LE MANS (France), 18 May 2008 - The fight for the lead in the motogp world championship has just become much more interesting. If we look at the winners of the first five races of the season, this is one of the most even championships in the last few years, or at least the most uncertain one: Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and two races won by Rossi.
MotoGp Standings - Rossi in Yamaha now leads the standings with 97 points, followed by Lorenzo and Pedrosa with 94, and Stoner in fourth place with 56. “I haven’t been the leader since last year’s race in Jerez de la Frontera. Stoner? He was fast today and he could have been a contender for the podium. I was a bit faster, but I’m sad to see him break down. The championship is still very long and we are all very close in the standings. It’s too soon to say Stoner is out of the title race.”
Plus, Valentino Rossi, a great manager of himself, is equaling Angel Nieto 90 Grand Prix victories milestone. The MotoGP Legend was even included in the celebrations in Le Mans.

Motorsports, car racing : Woman driver makes racing history
Danica Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar history after claiming the Indy Japan 300 race at the Twin Ring Motegi racetrack on Sunday.
The 26-year-old, in her 50th IndyCar race, finished 5.8594 seconds ahead of Helio Castroneves in Japan.
“It’s been a long time coming - this is fabulous,” said Patrick.
Patrick made her name in American motorsport by finishing fourth in the Indy500 in 2005, and came seventh in the overall standings last season.
“It was a fuel strategy race, but my team called it perfectly for me,” added Patrick, who drives for the Andretti Green Racing team.
“I knew I was on the same strategy as Helio and when I passed him for the lead, I couldn’t believe it.
“I knew there was a good reason for coming to Japan. I want to thank my team, the fans and everyone who supported me.
“I’ve been asked so many times when and if I could win my first race and finally, no more of those questions.”
Patrick took the lead from Castroneves on the 198th lap of the 200-lap race after starting in the third row.
“I think Danica is such a fantastic person and I’m thrilled for her that the monkey is finally off of her back,” said Michael Andretti, co-owner of Andretti Green Racing.
“We have all believed in her and she proved today that she is a winner. Frankly, I think this is the first of many.”

RTR SPONSORS ALAN RACING TEAM - INTERNATIONAL FORMULA MASTER CHAMPIONSHIP
RTR, a Professional Sports Marketing firm, promotes the advantages of motor racing sponsorship with Alan Racing Team.
RTR Sports Marketing have signed a sponsorship deal which will add the RTR logo, already on Gatto’s helmet since the start of the championship, to the cars of the team leading the 2007 IFM championship.
An original “marketing-within-marketing” initiative, then, and one which sees RTR on “the other side of the fence” in a sports sponsorship campaign.
The agency headed by Riccardo Tafà, based in Bologna and boasting an international portfolio of customers, has decided to team up with the stable from Cologno Monzese, on the one hand because it believes in its potential, and on the other hand to promote the countless opportunities offered by sponsorship in connection with so-called “minor” series too, by entering the fray itself. >> Read more about this motor racing sponsorship >>
